LET YOUR BEAUTIFUL GLASSES SHINE!
Gijs Van Leeuwen and the team at Spex in the City wanted to draw extra attention to part of their collections. After 5 1/2 years it was also time for an upgrade of the store and the need for more presentation capacity. We decided to adjust one corner of the rear part of the store, a cozy space with seating areas and matching mood lighting.
Showroom experience:
Gijs first saw the Carré units with its specific lighting for eyewear in our showroom, which perfectly illuminates the frames and shows their true colours. But we also took a closer look at the general lighting. We integrated light rails from Fagerhult that, together with the embedded LED modules in the Carré cabinets, provide a daylight experience and an optimal balance. Gijs submitted his entire wish list, including lighting, and we started drawing based on this.

A new eyewear corner with daylight illumination
In addition to the presentations and lighting, we also made a proposal for changing the flooring, and the entire rear right corner, which is now fully dedicated to the glasses. The walls have been smoothed and painted. We have removed 1 seating area and in its place, we have installed Carré glasses presentation cabinets and mirror cabinets for a maximum of 160 frames. Inside the cabinets, we placed our Carré lightboxes, that use the light that is integrated into the Carré Steel shelves for bright brand exposure. By using these boxes in combination with our eyewear podiums, we were able to create exciting eyewear theatres.
We are proud of the result, which is a completely new store experience where customers can easily estimate the value of the glasses.
Gijs van Leeuwen: "
With this new eyewear corner, we have created something beautiful. We now have a display in which you can see the brands much better. Optical brands such as Henry Julliën, Res Rei, Caroline Abram, and Johann von Goisern look at you with wide eyes and are immediately appreciated by the customer.
The team is also very pleased with it and these Carré cabinets make it really easy to bring something special to the attention of a special person. An additional advantage is that you need far fewer glasses for more impact".
